Why Can't I Carry a Blackjack?

As of June 13, 2022, in Ohio one need not bother with a permit to conceal and carry a gun or to openly carry a gun. That comes from the good work of our state lawmakers. I take comfort that anyone who pleases can go to a gun shop and buy the gun and ammo they need for personal protection or to shoot someone with whom they have a beef. No questions asked.
Yay, Ohio!
I don't want to carry a gun because I don't want to have to decide whether or not to use it.
I feel safe wherever I go. While I have not travelled extensively, I have been to Chicago, New York, Baltimore, Seattle, and numerous other American cities. When I visit cities, I know where to go and where not to go. I've never felt threatened in any city or country I have visited.
But if I were going to carry a weapon, I would prefer a blackjack, or better yet, an ax handle. What says stay away from me better than open carry ax handle? However, that's only legal if I am carrying it for work. Bummer!
While it is illegal to carry a blackjack, I can buy as many of them as I like, because, you know, I enjoy hosting cocktail parties and once the guests are oiled up nicely, I can show them my blackjack collection! How they admire it, along with my brass knuckle collection, also illegal to carry but okay to buy.
I'm so proud to be a Buckeye!
