How to Fight the Republican Agenda

This is for my Ohio Democrat, Independent, and Republican friends who did not vote for the dumpster fire we are all experiencing presently.
I recommend that you do what you reasonably can do to resist the Republican agenda while still maintaining your sanity, taking care of yourself and your family.
Don't try to save the world. You can't. You are one person, one vote, and you must keep it together.
Limit the amount of political media you consume. Reading, listening to, and watching the same shit over and over again will not do you any good. Check in once or twice a day, then get on with it. If anything big happens while you are unplugged from the news, someone will text you, right?
If you have money to donate to organizations that will fight the Republican Project 2025 and other sideshow dumpster fires, I highly recommend the American Civil Liberties Union. Check them out here.
The Southern Poverty Law Center is also an excellent place to donate money:
Both organizations require a 5 dollar minimum donation, and both organizations are exceptional at fighting injustice.
Contact your representatives, both state and federal. The 5 Calls app might be the most efficient way to do this. The app is easy to use and provides current information about the topics that need to be addressed. The app also provides scripts for you to read if you get a live person on the phone or need to leave a voicemail. 5 Calls allows you to keep track of the calls you have made.
Download 5 Calls for iPhone here:
Download 5 Calls for Android here:
You may also email your representatives. You could steal the scripts from 5 Calls if need be.

If you do not live in Ohio District 12, you may find your congressional representative here:
Email Ohio's senators from the links below:
Senator Bernie Moreno: https://berniemoreno.com/contact/
Senator Jon Husted: https://www.husted.senate.gov/
I recommend that everyone take a small step outside your comfort zone to help keep the pressure on our elected officials. Going to 5 Calls once a week for 10 minutes could be a manageable start.
As the Party Chair of the Muskingum County Democrats for the past four years, I have been living way outside my comfort zone. But for the first 60 years of my life, I really didn't do much except vote, knock on doors (since the Obama era), and donate money to candidates and causes when I could.
If you have any questions about anything I've written here or to report a broken link, please call me at 740.252.6911. Stay strong. Do not give these clowns your mind or your health!
