I have been on a ten-day newsbreak, and I feel fine! What that means is that I have not been scanning headlines on news wires (Associated Press and Reuters) and, since it was election season, doing the same on my home team's site (MSNBC). I normally take about fifteen minutes each morning to scan headlines and read a few articles.

Outside of election season, I usually skip MSNBC because I don't need to hear that the sky is falling every goddamn day.

Yesterday, someone told me that Joe Biden had pardoned his son, Hunter. I have mixed feelings about that, but I don't really care one way or the other. Perhaps if I were president and had a junkie son who had made lots of dumb decisions, I might do the same. I would like to think I would steer him away from lucrative paying jobs that would smack of nepotism, but since I have not been in that position, I can't say that I would.

Trump will be pardoned for his alleged (LOL) federal offenses after he takes office, even if he has to do it himself. So maybe he will one up Biden and pardon himself.

Since four more years of Trump are on the way, I will make sure I pace myself in my news intake because I am sure the sky will be falling every day according to the headlines.

It's a matter of self preservation. I try to do what I can as party chair for the Democrats in a county in which we normally get outvoted at least two to one, except inside the city where we can win elections. However, I can only do so much, and I refuse to let the horseshit current political environment interfere with my ability to function and occasionally thrive.

The people wanted Trump, and so we will have him. Before I cut myself off of daily news consumption, it appeared that he was working to appoint underqualified sycophants to head various government entities.

We will see how that works out!
